Canela is an amazing story of a community dog with a strong will to live. She was brought in from the city workers after they found her brutally attacked by a pack of feral dogs at the city land fill. She looked like a dog that had been torn apart from this attach, with huge open wounds all over her body. Canela was one of our previous street dogs that had been sterilized and vaccinated and returned to our community as a free-roaming dog. The team at Amici Cannis already knew Canela and adored her, they knew they had to do anything necessary to save her life! Using donations from the emergency care fund that we call ‘The Rascal Fund’, they immediately started intensive care treatments as well as giving sweet her tons of attention and love. Everyone knew her rehabilitation would be a long haul but the dedicated staff at Amici Cannis was committed to her recovery.
