Back to School!

It's Back to School Season and our team has been busily preparing for school to resume. 

Thanks to a recent grant awarded by BI and the approval from the Ecuadorian Ministry of Education, we launched a new humane education program called BE KIND, which starts this month.

The purpose of this program is to educate future generations about compassionate care and treatment of dogs and cats.

We believe that kindness paves the way to a healthier future for all living beings. Kindness is especially important for children to learn because it builds their moral character, reduces violence, and empowers them. Ultimately, the whole world benefits from having caring and respectful societies.

One of our goals is to teach children ages (8, 9 and 10 year olds) the 5 Freedoms of Animal Welfare:

Freedom from hunger and thirst

Freedom from discomfort

Freedom from pain, injury, disease

Freedom to express behavior

Freedom from fear and stress

The program includes in-school presentations  as well as workbooks to learn at home.  As the success of the program grows, we hope to expand it to reach younger children in 2024.
